Podemos definir a la adicción como un comportamiento crónico que se repite con consecuencias negativas para la persona; la necesidad de continuar con una sustancia o comportamiento a pesar de saber que es dañino para él o ella.
¿Cuáles son algunas de las adicciones más comunes en la actualidad?
En nuestro país fumar marihuana, beber alcohol y fumar tabaco ocupan los tres primeros lugares en ese orden, en cuanto a las adicciones más comunes entre los mexicanos,
Sin embargo, hay otras adicciones a sustancias, que, aunque no escuchamos mucho, son bastante comunes:
- Psicofármacos, que personas sin necesidad de tomarlos lo hacen y se genera de forma muy rápida una tolerancia a consumirlos.
- Cafeína: es considerada a nivel mundial como la droga que más altera el estado de ánimo, y es consumida por un gran número de personas que la necesitan para mantenerse alertas.
- Comida: aunque no está clasificada como una adicción, existen diversos desórdenes alimenticios que nos demuestran una dependencia a la comida: anorexia (dejar de comer voluntariamente), bulimia (atracones de comida y después devolver el estómago), bulimarexia o combinación de ambas, los comedores compulsivos y la obesidad.
Y las llamadas adicciones de comportamiento:
- Pornografía y sexo: también denominado como desorden compulsivo sexual.
- Juego: ya sea en forma de apuestas deportivas, póker, ruleta o cualquier forma de sacar dinero mediante el azar. A este trastorno se le llama ludopatía.
- A las compras, consumiendo cantidades de dinero en productos y servicios que no son necesarios.
- A las nuevas tecnologías: internet, celular, computadora, o cualquier otro dispositivo electrónico.
- Al trabajo cuando se le da un lugar por encima de la familia y la persona.
- Al ejercicio cuando se realiza en forma exagerada.
Recuerda que la adicción es una sustancia o comportamiento que le hace daño a tu persona y a quienes te rodean. Si no puedes controlarlo y tu vida se está viendo afectada, de inmediato pide ayuda profesional para dejarlo atrás.
