There are different approaches toward female and male roles in the society. Some people have certain views about women, and they carry these views throughout their entire lives. My grandmother, for example, has certain perspectives on female roles in American society. She is a well-educated woman with higher education, but because of family and parenthood, she has never had a job connected to her profession. When her children became a little older, she obtained a low-paid job since it did not require a lot of time, and her husband was the one making the biggest amount of money. Now my grandmother has retired, but she was willing to share her thoughts on women. According to questionnaire writing service, a feminine woman looks attractive and she is also respected by men. Thus, she may appeal to them, but never act in a vulgar way. A feminine woman is the one who performs many different and difficult tasks but still looks petite and has a certain charm.

Women should try to be feminine just like men have to be manly. Such things determine gender roles in the society; they also maintain certain expectations for a family. Grandmother believes that women should have calm jobs. They should be teachers or nurses. They can also be librarians, cooks or simply housewives because these jobs attribute to feminine side since females perform their tasks just like men perform the tasks expected from them. On the other hand, grandmother encourages women to pursue higher education which she believes to be the door to all of the possibilities. Grandmother got those ideas from the society she used to live in when she was young and also from her parents. Nevertheless, she added that things have changed greatly over the last decades, and nowadays women can do much more and be less dependent on their husbands.

Grandmother also added that when she was young, her parents had different ideas about women because there were even more limitations for females. They were mostly housewives with little goals and plans in life.

The answers did not really shock me because I expected them. I realize that years ago women were much more pressured and had fewer opportunities. Nevertheless, things have changed, and women can do everything. They do not necessarily have to have calm jobs because they can work in police, etc. Thus, there has been a great improvement in female situation, and it is great that society has finally moved toward gender equality.
