Estaba sentada en un sillon, leyendo una historia muy interesante.Un momento mas tarde, sentí una sensación de indigestión, como cuando estando de prisa te comes un sándwich en 3 mordidas ahora esa comida me hacia sentir como si una pelota de golf bajaba por el esófago.Esta fue la sensación inicial - yo NO HABIA comido NADA desde las 17:00 hrs.La siguiente sensación fue como si alguien me apretara (como ordeñar a una vaca) la ESPINA DORSAL (pensándolo ahora creo era que mi aorta estaba en espasmos), y aceleraba hacia mi externo. Este proceso continuó hasta llegar a mi garganta y se separo abarcando ambos lados de mi quijada.Sabia que el dolor en la quijada es señal de un ataque al miocardio, ¡¡creo que tengo un ataque al corazón!!. Baje los pies del sillón y trate de dirigirme hacia el teléfono pero caí al suelo.Pense 'Esto es un ataque al corazón y no debería caminar hasta la recamara donde esta el teléfono ni a ningún otro lugar, pero... si no le dejo saber a nadie lo que me esta pasándo, no habrá nadie que me pueda ayudar, y mejor me apuro o si me tardo quizá no pueda moverme después.'Me Levante ayudándome con la silla y camine despacio hacia la recamara desde donde llame a los Paramédicos. Les dije que creí que me estaba dando un ataque al corazón, describí mis síntomas. No me sentí histérica ni asustada, tan solo le informe de los hechos. Ellos dijeron que vendrían de inmediato y me aconsejaron acostarme cerca de la puerta después de haber quitado el seguro - para poder encontrarme.Segui sus instrucciones, me acosté en el suelo y perdí el conocimiento. No recuerdo a los Paramédicos entrar, examinarme, levantarme a la camilla, meterme en la ambulancia ni tampoco cuando llamaron a la sala de emergencias. Se acerco a mi cara y me hizo algunas preguntas (creo que pregunto si había yo tomado algún medicamento) pero no podía yo contestar ni entender lo que se me decía y volví a perder el conocimiento. Me desperté cuando el cardiólogo y asistente ya habían ensartado un pequeño balón de angiograma en mi arteria femoral y de ahí a la aorta y mi corazón donde instalaron dos 'stents' para mantener abierta mi arteria coronaria del lado derecho.1. Dense cuenta de lo que pasa en sus cuerpos que sea diferente, y que, no se parecerá en nada a lo que padecen los hombres, A mi me ataco en el esternon y la quijada.Se dice que muchas mas mujeres que hombres mueren en su primero (y ultimo) ataque cardiaco porque no supieron que estaban sufriendo uno y confundieron los síntomas con los de una indigestión - por lo tanto tomando un Maalox o algún otro medicamento similar y luego se fueron a cama esperando que la molestia desapareciera durante la noche.Mis queridas amigas, los síntomas quizá no sean los mismos que padecí yo, pero no esperen a averiguarlo. LLAMEN a la AMBULANCIA o PARAMEDICOS, mas vale llamar y que sea una llamada falsa a no llamar y perder la vida.2. Noten que dije 'llamen a los Paramédicos/Ambulancia. AMIGAS, el tiempo es importante, no traten de manejar ustedes ni dejen que sus esposos las lleven al hospital. NINGUNO esta en condiciones de manejar Si llamas al doctor el no sabe donde vives y si es de noche seguramente no estará en casa y si es de día y esta ocupado, su asistente o contestadora te dirá que llames a los paramédicos. El no trae el equipo necesario en su carro para salvarte, los paramédicos SI, principalmente el Oxigeno el cual necesitaras de inmediato. El hospital notificara a tu doctor después.3. No crean que no puede ser un ataque cardiaco tan solo porque tu colesterol es normal. Se ha descubierto que aun con el colesterol algo (a menos que sea excesivo) raramente es la causa de un ataque cardiaco. Los ataques al corazón son el resultado de un stress prolongado e inflamación del cuerpo lo cual 'suelta' toda clase de hormonas mortales en tu sistema para fastidiarlo. Dolor en la quijada puede despertar al más dormilón.
